Faith is a Natural Dog

Hey Everyone! Faith is doing better - she wanted me to let you know that. She celebrated her 11th birthday with soldiers at the airport, and we met and hugged as many as we could. She's been very excited lately to meet more soliders and patients at the Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinic in Oklahoma City, where she is being fitted for her new "harness" type prosthesis.  It is a one-of-a-kind, and has never been created in the past. Our good friend Chris L. is to thank! She has been one of Faith's biggest fans and supporters.  MORE news as it comes! I just wanted to you know that Faith is doing very well. She's older of course, but she's still got that big smile of hers, and she's willing to share it with everyone she meets. Thank you for continuing to love her and support her. It really means so much to our family to know she is truly loved by so many.

Hanger Prosthetics Clinic in Oklahoma City

Hey everyone! Faith is really getting her groove on now. She's being fitted for a new harness type apparatus by Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics in Oklahoma City, so she can possibly lean down and put her weight on the harness when she wants to go for a walk; and possibly when she needs to do her business.

We're trying it out, and feel that Hanger is the BEST in the business. They are really very very good.

At Hanger, Faith met Royal Marine Commando Mark Ormrod, a triple amputee from the Afghanistan war. He's so wonderful, and as a motivational speaker now, he and I are hoping to work together.

Hanger is the same group that created the prosthetic fluke for Winter the dolphin.

Their slogan is currently "Empowering Human Potential" that may have to change - - Faith and Winter are big fans!

I'll keep you updated.  Photos to come!

Hanger is located at: 4300 N. Classen Blvd, OKC, OK 73118, and their number is (405) 525-4000

Trip to Oklahoma to see Pop & Grandma

Date:
Friday, August 30, 2013 - 10:45 - Monday, September 2, 2013 - 14:00

Faith will be taking a long trip back to Oklahoma on August 30 to see her Pop and Grandma.  Since she loves trips it should be OK. We'll probably fly, but if not I'll put on some Boney James for her in the back seat.

Blaze's Equine Rescue

You may remember that Faith and I are from Oklahoma.  We found a great horse rescue in Jones, Oklahoma just down the road from where my parents live. The Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue has been operating in Jones for many years and has been very successful in helping abused and neglected animals. Here's a bit about the rescue:  (www.blazesequinerescue.com

" Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue, Inc., located in Jones, Oklahoma, is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization that strives to improve the lives of neglected, starved and abused horses. We provide equine rescue regardless of age or disability. We provide Rehabilitation, Education and Adoption Services. We promote and teach horse care and humane, natural methods for training horses. Our primary focus is Animal Cruelty Cases. We work closely with the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division and the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office with their Equine related Animal Cruelty Cases. We also assist any other local/rural County Sheriff's Office who request our assistance."

This is LASH....she's one of the great horses at the rescue.

You can help in a few ways! You can donate your time, your money, or both if you like. These animals need cared for and they need homes as well as simple sponsorship. Some people can't afford to own a horse so they donate to the care and medical attention these horses need. This way they feel connected to an animal.  However, that being said, the rescue is dedicated to finding GREAT forever homes for their animals; many of which would be lost without you. Please consider helping. Thank you.
