Faith is Popular in Britain and The Daily Mail Online

The Daily Mail Online published an article about Faith on August 17, 2010

Daily Mail Online

Meet Faith, the two-legged dog who has been made an honorary sergeant in the U.S. army

"A two-legged dog who has learned to walk upright has been made an honorary sergeant in the U.S. army for inspiring disabled war veterans.

Faith, an eight-year old labrador-chow cross is a favourite at army bases and hospitals, where she 'marches' around on her hind legs, dressed in a military jacket.

Her owner Jude Stringfellow, from Oklahoma City, is now trying to bring the remarkable canine to Britain to meet troops wounded in Afghanistan."

Faith Greets Pop and G'Ma

When Jude sent me this video, I knew it had to be on Faith's web site. She is so happy and excited to see her "peeps" -
and it shows people who think that Faith's life is devoted to TV appearances and celebrities that she knows that family is the most important thing!

Pop and G'Ma came down to help Reuben move back to OKC - and that's sis Laura with Reuben in the beginning of the video.

Faith has a new kitten friend named Buble!

Faith loves her new kitten!  We adopted little Buble (named after the great jazz singer Michael Buble) just last week when it was discovered that he was going to be put down for being - - can you believe it -- unadoptable!  Buble is 6 weeks old, and was found as a stray in our city; which has a great shelter.  The shelter however has overcrowding and they deem animals unfit for adoption when they have birth defects to make room for the more, shall we say, standard animal.  Buble is blind in his right eye.  It probably happened as he was coming down  the birth canal.  His mother was a ferrel cat, so there's no telling what the situation may or may not be. He falls under the category of being unadoptable and therefore he was on death row.

Because we foster a lot of animals and have a great rapport with the shelter, the manager was willing to overlook a rule or two and allow us to foster Buble for a little while and then adopt him properly after our family was found to be a home wherein he could expect to thrive.  Being unadoptable never stopped Buble!

From the second he came home he decided he was going to be the new ruler of the house - - well, cats do that. He began with Faith of course, as she is the Queen, and believe me, she is 100% smitten.  They are best of friends.  The bed is no longer lonely for Faith, who has been sleeping under it by herself lately since the other dogs have decided to be on top of the bed.  Now she has a buddy to play with and playing all day is on both of their agendas.  Buble thinks the world of Faith, and she's excited he's a part of her life too.  When I explained to Buble that Faith was famous he didn't seem to care one bit -- not one to be star struck I suppose.  She looks and smells like a good friend to him, and that's all that matters.  Buble even shares his food with Faith from time to time.  We gave him June 1 for a birthday; he's already making plans to celebrate. (Cats do that too)

About Dogster and Catster

We are dog freaks and computer geeks who wanted a canine sharing application that's truly gone to the dogs. Such a site didn't exist, so we built it ourselves. The fluffy love is backed with serious technology and years of coding experience under our collars. Dogster has since become more contagious than kennel cough.

Since launching in January 2004, Dogster.com (and its sister site Catster.com launched in August, 2004) have become the fastest growing pet destination on the internet and are now a top-five overall pet destination. Now serving over 4 million photos for over 600,000 uploaded pets by 750,000 members, Dogster and Catster serve more than 22 million pages a month to over three quarters of a million visitors.

Today's cartoon, titled "Big Tracks" was inspired by Dancer and Cochise who suffer from Degenerative Myelopathy

Like Faith, these intrepid dogs show us that even a dog - or person - with disabilities can have a fulfilling life!

Faith the Dog Visits Petco for National Adopt-an-Animal Day

PETCO THINK ADOPTION FIRSTPETCO logoFaith and I took Reuben with us to PETCO #1491 in Ft. Worth, TX this past Saturday to help celebrate National Adopt-an-Animal Day as well as to help the great C.A.R.E. team find homes for their dogs and cats too.

C.A.R.E. brought about ten animals to PETCO and placed two I believe, a dog and a cat.

Faith the Dog at Ft. Worth PETCO Faith the Dog with Reuben Stringfellow and unidentified womanReuben was certainly the most popular guy there. Those who follow Faith's story were absolutely thrilled to see Reuben in person!  One woman stated she thought she'd never be able to contain her joy for having met Faith, but also seeing her original rescuer in person. She was so proud of Reuben and his military service. Her son served in the Army for 11 years.

Faith the Dog gets love at PETCOFaith the Dog at PETCOI'd say we saw just over a hundred people at the store. Many donations were made both to help the rescue efforts in Haiti as well as a couple of animal shelters that really need our help.

Everyone at PETCO was just so wonderful - - Faith, Reuben, and I thank PETCO and C.A.R.E. for inviting us to come out and hang around for the afternoon.
