Faith the Dog Supports Oklahoma Relief Efforts

Many of you know that Faith and I were both born in Oklahoma City. My children Reuben, Laura, and Caity were also born in that great city, and today we are hurting and suffering heartache with the people of that community. Moore, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City, Newcastle, and other cities surrounding these communities are suffering from one of the most disasterous storms to hit the nation. We wanted the people of Oklahoma to know that we are with you in our hearts and in our prayers. I am asking anyone who could to donate to the Oklahoma Relief Efforts by going to this link:  www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/impact.your.world (please give if you can) and to continue to help support the wonderful people of Oklahoma. WE LOVE YOU.  Boomer Sooner!!

Faith was born for a reason.  I believe it was to first heal my family from sorrow and sadness, and this allowed us to help her fulfill another mission - - to help as many as possible.  So many people write to me and tell me how Faith has touched their lives.  Please share your stories with others who love Faith.  Log in or Create a new account to post in our Forums including Share Your Pet Photos and Stories and access other "members-only" community features! Thank you so much.  Enjoy Faith!

Faith's Summer Plans

We're hoping that Faith and Laura will be able to film a television show for the Japanese TV production company Zippy.  We're told it will be a variety show, but Faith will be visiting elderly Japanese patients in either a hospital or a nursing home,  Faith loves working with and visiting elderly people so this should be a very good experience for her.  Because I am going to be working full time Laura will be talking on camera and handling Faith as she is filmed.  Infact, Laura has been doing most of the shows with Faith this Spring and will continue to work with her.

Thanks so much for following Faith.  As she goes on other trips you can see her progress at www.boardthefaithtrain.com

The book I am writing about Faith is in the hands of a great publisher in NYC.  We hope to announce their name to you soon.  When the book is released Faith, Laura, Caity, and I will go to at least 6 maybe more military bases and do book signings.  That should be closer to December, but the announcement of the publishers name is coming soon!  Look forward to a cartoon version of Faith's life in the future too - - she's just a busy girl.

Faith the Dog Puppy Plush Toy

The REALLY exciting news right now is the Puppy Faith plush toy that is out and available at www.chermarketing.com for $14.99 plus shipping and handling.

You'll have to write to Cheryl or Norma at Cher Marketing for the total cost, but I think I paid $5.00 or so for one to be mailed to me, for a total of about $20. International rates are higher of course.

It's very cute, very cuddly, and way too sweet to pass up. I'm thinking everyone I know will be getting one for their birthday, Christmas or anniversary!!  She's adorable.

Photographer Anthony Tortoriello with FaithFaith Chicago SkylineAnthony Tortoriello literally put his hand out and Faith was completely taken by him. She has always (from the first second they met) loved "Tort" as we call him.  Anthony contacted me a couple of years ago about photographing Faith when we visited his native city of Chicago.  Since October 2007 he has been Faith's official photographer.  We hope to work with him several more times in the future.

Take a look at Anthony's extraordinary work with nature, objects, and some of the most unusual subjects for his work. He sees things I could never see. He feels the art rather than seeing it. I believe he is one of the best I've ever seen at capturing the beauty in this world.

About Dogster and Catster

We are dog freaks and computer geeks who wanted a canine sharing application that's truly gone to the dogs. Such a site didn't exist, so we built it ourselves. The fluffy love is backed with serious technology and years of coding experience under our collars. Dogster has since become more contagious than kennel cough.

Since launching in January 2004, Dogster.com (and its sister site Catster.com launched in August, 2004) have become the fastest growing pet destination on the internet and are now a top-five overall pet destination. Now serving over 4 million photos for over 600,000 uploaded pets by 750,000 members, Dogster and Catster serve more than 22 million pages a month to over three quarters of a million visitors.

Today's cartoon, titled "Big Tracks" was inspired by Dancer and Cochise who suffer from Degenerative Myelopathy

Like Faith, these intrepid dogs show us that even a dog - or person - with disabilities can have a fulfilling life!

Tink the Irrepressible Dachsund

Tink is another two-legged dog who also visits the military, schools.  Learn more at Tink's Place

Tink's best friend is a 3-legged cat named Henry!

Their workbooks together are going to Haiti to encourage the kids.

Learn more about her boyfriend's project at Henry's World

Notice that Tink's body type does not permit her to walk upright like Faith.

She has had a myriad of prosthetics and wheels - but she always manages to get around!

Faith the Dog Visits Petco for National Adopt-an-Animal Day

PETCO THINK ADOPTION FIRSTPETCO logoFaith and I took Reuben with us to PETCO #1491 in Ft. Worth, TX this past Saturday to help celebrate National Adopt-an-Animal Day as well as to help the great C.A.R.E. team find homes for their dogs and cats too.

C.A.R.E. brought about ten animals to PETCO and placed two I believe, a dog and a cat.

Faith the Dog at Ft. Worth PETCO Faith the Dog with Reuben Stringfellow and unidentified womanReuben was certainly the most popular guy there. Those who follow Faith's story were absolutely thrilled to see Reuben in person!  One woman stated she thought she'd never be able to contain her joy for having met Faith, but also seeing her original rescuer in person. She was so proud of Reuben and his military service. Her son served in the Army for 11 years.

Faith the Dog gets love at PETCOFaith the Dog at PETCOI'd say we saw just over a hundred people at the store. Many donations were made both to help the rescue efforts in Haiti as well as a couple of animal shelters that really need our help.

Everyone at PETCO was just so wonderful - - Faith, Reuben, and I thank PETCO and C.A.R.E. for inviting us to come out and hang around for the afternoon.
