Roo, a 2-legged dog, has found a home
We've just been informed that Roo has been adopted by a long-time fan of Faith. Yeah!
Please consider adopting an animal from your local shelter, disabled or not you will have a BFF
RIVERSIDE, Calif. ( KTLA) -- A stray dog has become the star of the Western Riverside County Animal Shelter not just because of his sweet temperament, but because he only has two legs.
The 4-month-old pooch was dropped off Thursday and quickly earned the nickname "Roo," short for kangaroo.

OIC

Actor Gary Sinise and Author Laura Hillenbrand co-founded an organization called Operation Iraqi Children which helped the children of Iraq to receive needed school supplies through the generous donations of caring souls around the world.
That organization has been recently renamed to Operation International Children to reflect the fact that children all over the world are now given these supplies.
100% of the school supplies are donated, organized, shipped, and delivered by people who believe in the future of this planet - - and the best part is that these supplies are passed out to the children through the hearts and hands of our American soldiers who are in these countries.
PLEASE look into your own heart and donate what you can to this miracle operation. Thank you.

Great Indy Pet Expo 2010
Faith and I went to, and will be at, the Great Indy Pet Expo November 13-14th, 2010. It's at the State Fairgrounds and we're with Precise Pet Food. I am helping out my friend Liz Morken. She's with Precise as an account rep. She passed out literature and talked to people while Faith stopped traffic and brought people to the booth! It was a lot of fun. Faith must have sniffed the butts of at least a 1000 new friends- - human and animal. LOL She's just that way.

SURF DOG RICOCHET SURFS TANDEM WITH SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS AT DANA POINT NOVEMBER 13TH & 14TH
SURF DOG RICOCHET SURFS TANDEM WITH SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS AT
BEST DAY FOUNDATION'S "BEST DAY AT THE BEACH" EVENT!
DANA POINT NOVEMBER 13TH & 14TH!DANA POINT, CA, November 10, 2010... Surf dog Ricochet, the SURFice dog who surfs for fun, wins dog surfing contests, and most notably surfs tandem with disabled adaptive surfers while raising funds and awareness for human/animal causes will be at the Best Day Foundation's "Day at the Beach" event at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point on November 13th & 14th.
Best Day Foundation, which helps kids with special needs build confidence and self esteem through safe, fun-filled adventure activities, will be hosting two half-day events which include surfing, bodyboarding and kayaking. The "Best Day at the Beach" event is free for kids with special needs including Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Blindness, Cancer, Spinal Cord injuries, and other physical and developmental challenges.
When Max Montgomery, Best Day Co-Founder and Executive Director heard that Ricochet surfs tandem with disabled kids, he invited her to participate. "We're stoked to see Ricochet surf at Doheny State Beach after watching her all over the internet. The kids are thrilled to meet Ricochet, and we're grateful to her for helping bring more awareness to Best Day's first events in Orange County."
Ricochet will be surfing with Ian McFarland, a six year old boy who suffered a brain injury in a horrific car accident that claimed the lives of his parents. Ian used to surf with his father, but was fearful of getting back on a board after the accident. That all changed when he surfed with Ricochet the first time. His fears were replaced with excitement, and now Ian says "I want to wipe out with Ricochet!" See for your self!... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iIv5t2qKL4.
Patrick Ivison, a 16 year old quadriplegic surfer, the first to ever surf tandem with Ricochet will also be hitting the waves with her on a tandem surfboard generously provided by Surftech Surfboards
In addition, Ricochet will surf solo as a demonstration to further promote confidence building... "if a dog can do it, so can you!" She will offer encouragement, and help kids who show any apprehension of getting on a board. She will be busy with meet & greets, and of course offer lots of cuddling on the beach too!
Trained volunteers are paired with each kid, and they begin their Best Day with fun exercises before hitting the water. The safe, fun activities are designed to expand their potential, create excitement, and connect them with new friends. After an exciting day at the beach and a warm lunch, each participant is individually honored for their achievements during an award ceremony. All the children are gold medal winners at Best Day's events!

She has an inspirational video on YouTube that went viral "From Service dog to SURFice dog" and has almost 3 million views. Talking With Heroes - Radio Interview KRJM
This Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 10 a.m. EST (9 a.m. Central) you can hear a recorded interview I had with KRJM's own Kurt Philion. Kurt is the leader behind a great organization called "Philco's Freedom Team" and Kurt also has a wealth of information about our great troops and how we can continue to love and suport them. I had the honor of speaking with Kurt for about 20 minutes last week about Faith and her role in the military.
As we enter this 2010 Veteran's Day week, I want to share how much I love being connected with you, the veterans and active duty soldiers, and their friends and family members. I truly am so very proud to be a blue star mom, and I thank God every day not only for my own personal hero (and son) Spec. Reuben Stringfellow, but also for you, the soldiers who have been with my son in body and spirit as you defend our great nation. I am also very proud of our Canadian friends and soldiers, who have served right beside us and have been in our hearts and prayers for many many years. Have a blessed Veteran's Day and know that you are prayed for.
I hope you have the chance to hear the interview, we will be posting it soon on this web site in case you do miss it.
The show can be heard at 10 a.m. EST on Sunday, November 14, 2010 on GOLD 101.5 FM in Mahnomen, MN. or at the radio station website www.krjmradio.com
You can see Kurt's GREAT site "Philco's Freedom Team" at www.philcofreedomteam.net PLEASE stop by and check it out. You can add them on Facebook too.

Faith Meets Actor Chris Burke!
Hey Everyone, Faith met one of the great TV stars of the 90's, Mr. Chris Burke.
Do you remember Chris from his role as "Corky" on LIFE GOES ON? It was a great family relationship show, one that Chris brought tears of laughter, joy, and reality to through his dynamic role as Corky, the big brother with Down Syndrome.
Chris is very high functioning, and quite the character still. Today I asked him if he was going to be back in the limelight, and on television again - - his answer to me was that he was about to get on stage in a couple of minutes! He even told me they made him fly in the CARGO department of the plane on the way over from New York City! NO ... he loves to tease, and he's so funny.
Faith took to Chris immediately. They hit it off and hung out back stage as we watched Chris during his segment and he watched us during ours. I'm hoping Chris and Faith can work together in the future as we go through this life and speak - - teaching and sharing our messages of hope and inspiration.
Thanks to Joe and John, the CREW of the C.J.J. Enterprises - Chris' new team. You can find Chris through the website: www.chrisburke.org Call Joe or John and book Chris for your next big thing!! (609) 581-2651 Tell him FAITH sent you!!
